My Newest book series

NEW DIGEST NOVEL SERIES DEBUTS FROM PRO SE-
THE FIRST SYNN: THE BLOODSTONE CONFIDENTIAL

Pro Se Productions, a leader in New Pulp and Genre Fiction, gladly commits THE FIRST SYNN: THE BLOODSTONE CONFIDENTIAL, the first of a new series of supernatural pulp thrillers by noted award winning author Teel James Glenn. Complete with chills and thrills harkening back to the classic Pulps, THE FIRST SYNN introduces the first sibling duo in Pulp history, ready to take on whatever horror flies their way! From Teel James Glenn and Pro Se Productions- THE FIRST SYNN: THE BLOODSTONE CONFIDENTIAL!

“There’s absolutely nothing,” says Partner in and Editor in Chief of Pro Se, Tommy Hancock, “like a good Pulpy supernatural thriller! Especially one with a strong duo in the lead. THE FIRST SYNN has all the markings of a classic Pulp tale, even borrowing quite a bit from classic cliffhanger serials, but what really makes this story work is the way that TJ works the words he writes. Each phrase turns just right and the description brings all the fear and daring do to life.”

The Bloody Curse of the Vampire! Years ago Gideon Synn tried to save Faith Bloodstone from a deadly family curse in upstate New York. He failed and Faith died at the hands of a mysterious blood drinking fiend. Synn ran from his failure and became a world traveler, joining the French Foreign Legion and eventually becoming a mercenary in China.

Now, years later he has opened a security firm with his sister Kathy. Charity Bloodstone, Faith’s younger sister, comes to him for help against the same curse—the supposed vampire ghost of her ancestor, Justice Bloodstone! According to legend, Charity has only one week to live!

Several people have been killed by what appears to be the undead Justice in ways that suggest a supernatural cause. The Synn siblings are drawn into a whirlwind of terror and evil as the mystery of the vampire murders comes closer and closer to fulfilling the curse.

Has Gideon found love with Charity only to lose her to dark forces? Who are the armed thugs that have attacked the siblings? Can Kathy Synn keep her brother out of trouble long enough to solve the mystery of the Bloodstone Confidential?

Featuring a chillingly atmospheric cover by Adam Shaw and book design and formatting by Sean Ali and ebook formatting by Russ Anderson, THE FIRST SYNN is a hit with reviewers-

“Another adventure straight out of an RKO serial. Anyone who likes those old black and white movies will enjoy this story. The descriptions, the language, the style…it’s all there. A good entry into Author Glenn’s booklist. Looking forward to book #2. Keep ‘em coming, TJ!”- Toni Sweeney, Book Reviewer

“THE BLOODSTONE CONFIDENTIAL is a nice entry into this book series. Hopefully, Glenn can come up with enough clever plots and enemies to throw at Synn for numerous further adventures.” —Bruce Grossman, www.bookgasm.com

Author of Sword's Call!

I'll be doing an interview on C.A. Szarek's blog in the future but its a fun blog to stop by and have a read...www.caszarekwriter.blogspot.com

And here's a look at her work:
For generations, the Ryhans, ruling family of the Province of Greenwald, have been keepers of a sword rumored to possess enough magic to defeat kings. Lord Varthan, a former archduke and betrayer of the king, covets the sword and invades Greenwald. Lady Ceralda Ryhan, daughter of the murdered duke, gains the sword and flees, trusting only her white wolf, Trikser—magically bonded to her. Cera needs nothing more to aid in her fight.

Jorrin Aldern, half elfin and half human, left his home in the mountains of Aramour to find his human father who disappeared twenty turns before, but finds Cera with Varthan and his shades on her tail instead. His dual heritage and empathic magic will tempt Cera in ways she never thought she’d desire. But can he convince her trust and love can pave the path to redemption—or will the epic battle end in tragedy, and evil conquer them all?

An Evening with an Edge!

On August 6th 2013 I had an incredible time at the Stone Creek Pub, thanks to the efforts of Charlene Barker and Carole-Linda Gonzalez of the Tolkien Meet up group here in New York. I met some 30 or so friends-fans- who came to hear me read from some of my books and do some demonstrations of broadsword and spear technique. It was a special evening and  if they had half as much of a good time as I did it was a success!
Here are some images taken by Charlene- including one of her holding a Cold Steel Waster...

The hot reviews keep on coming!

Two more reviews of the follow up to The Harker Legacy:

May 20, 2013 by Tony Lane
Modern takes on pulp fiction stories can easily feel either dated or like a great big round of Edam. Thankfully this story does not suffer from either of those issues. The pace was fast moving and relentless in a manner that befitted a boxing match. ...A Texan with Irish lineage is not a person to besmirch unless you’re willing to back it up. ... There were surprises in this story that have left me reading about Irish Folklore and imagining what the story could have led to. Any story that sparks the imagination is a good thing. This book is well worth missing a frothy coffee with your name on the side for. ...a great modern take on pulp fiction.

A THUMPIN' GOOD READ!, May 12, 2013

The Fist of the Fae: Pulp Line #7 (Paperback)
I defy anyone who reads the very well-crafted prologue to this novella not to read it through in one sitting, as I did. Author Glenn clearly knows his topic and has conceived a most entertaining story, told with great humor and love for his subject. Pour yourself a brew, sit back and have an enjoyable evening as you read of writer Robert E. Howard's very plausible trip to the Emerald isle.

Review of  The Harkers Legacy by Teel James Glenn

Teel James Glenn in The Harker Legacy has given Bob Howard new life with an all star cast of Jonathan and Mina Harker and someone else you know under another name, William Pratt. This alternate lifeline has sparked the urge in Bob Howard to see the world. Armed with his six gun and typewriter, he finds himself in England. A visit to a pub...brings Bob to the Harker estate and the adventure takes on darker tones of danger, black magic, and sacrifice. What he will find is the Harkers' connection with Dracula has left a taint on their souls.
Teel Glenn vividly portrays the cowboy side of Howard with all the sensitivity of the writer who places a high value on those he cares for. ...
As to the writing, damned good. The Harker Legacy runs sure and strong, filled with adventure and danger. From chasing down a run away horse to the final confrontation in the amphitheater of death, the story will keep you reading. Friendships bonded in cement will save the day. Download this book...now...don't even think about it. Once you've read it, check out the other works by Teel Glenn, more products of a rich imagination.

A Faire Review!

I'm delighted to report that I've had an A One review of my renaissance faire mystery novel "Murder Most Faire" from Post Mortem Press (Available at Amazon.com) by the reviewer at the New York Journal of Books. Head to their site for the full review- but here is a tiny excerpt:

"... Partly based on events in the author’s own life and partly pure fiction, Murder Most Faire is written in a livre noir style reminiscent of Mickey Spillaine’s I, the Jury. It’s an easy read, peppered with literary and cinematic references, and the climax is worthy of an Errol Flynn movie."

A busy couple of months!

It has been over a month since I've had time to post here--a great trip to Montreal and lots of writing have kept me busy.
I've had two book come out from the British publisher Anachron Press for their new pulpline.

The Harker Legacy, a paranormal thriller is the first in a series of short books about Bob Howard -pulp writer and adventurer. The tales are an alternate world take on the 1930s and Howard-'father' of Conan, Kull and Solomon Kane- ranges the globe meeting alternate world versions of such famous people as T. E. Lawrence, Boris Karloff, Winston Churchill, Adolph Hitler and many others. The second tale "Fist of the Fae" is already in the pipeline for a May release.

O'Leary's Luck is a modern hardboiled mystery featuring Jon Shadows - an unconventional hero. Son of a famous world traveling adventurer (yes-Dr. Shadows for those who follow my writings)- gets involved in a deadly puzzle in modern New Orleans. It is also first in what I hope will be a series for Anachron's Pulpline. ( The Secret of Wolf Island, A Jon Shadows novel, can be found at Gypsyshadow.com).

Let me say now, btw--I LOVE the covers on these two- they completely capture the feel of the stories...
